Hybrid tunnel solar dryer is an active solar dryer (ASD) with long tunnel design having trays for spreading food materials. It is able to capture full solar radiation (sunshine) and generates more heat to dry food materials such as tomatoes, fruits and vegetables. This solar dryer preserves nutrients, taste, colour, essential oil and other inherent properties found in food or agricultural materials.
The hybrid implies it has embedded alternative heater. The alternative heater is only used when sunshine is not available or not sufficient. The alternative heater can be powered by client’s Electricity, Generator or off-grid system.
